We need to be pioneering, think outside of the box, dream a bit, anticipate the future, and have a desire to achieve. What we did not touch on was the need for global industry knowledge.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Companies are opening their boundaries, and people are enlarging their perspectives, not because they are farsighted, but because they must.<br \/>\n\u2014Rossabeth Moss Kanter<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In today\u2019s electronic age, coupled with the ability to readily move between continents, we have an increased need to develop and hone our international knowledge and relationships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skilled leaders:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand business on a global scale<\/li>\n<li>Are experienced in multicultural environments<\/li>\n<li>Adapt in unfamiliar situations<\/li>\n<li>Know how capital flows and operates internationally<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to differing laws and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Know which approach is optimal for each global partner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tips To Increase Global Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay on top of international news<\/li>\n<li>Study and understand global trends\n<ul>\n<li>What\u2019s the economic condition?<\/li>\n<li>Is the need for outsourcing increasing or decreasing?<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s the need for specialization?<\/li>\n<li>Do cultural and linguistic boundaries exist?<\/li>\n<li>Are rates of retirement creating any issues?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Build international partnerships<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Jot down key drivers for each international market you interact with, or would like to interact with. examples are: Marketing strategies, business growth, unique cultural needs, what they like and don\u2019t like about your products or services<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Do your homework.
