All must be treated equally, kept informed, inspired, engaged, and be fully productive.\u00a0d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports show:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20% of workers around the globe spend a portion of their work week working remotely<\/li>\n<li>7% are full time telecommuters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: Canada, Great Britain, and the U.S. require the most \u201cat work\u201d workers (37%, 37%, 38% respectively)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The major pluses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Telecommuters have 83% less stress than those that commute to their workplace<\/li>\n<li>78% said they have a better work\/life balance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The negatives:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>62% feel isolated not seeing their co-workers face to face<\/li>\n<li>56% are less likely to be promoted when working remotely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does this mean to you as a leader?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading remotely means you need to be a skilled communicator<\/li>\n<li>Priorities must be shared and roles clearly understood<\/li>\n<li>Share what is expected of each individual (and each location) and include the \u201cbig picture\u201d and desired results<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all interactions end with closure.
