{"id":9591,"date":"2018-04-19T16:58:07","date_gmt":"2018-04-19T20:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peopletekcoaching.com\/staging\/?p=9591"},"modified":"2021-10-14T21:38:42","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T21:38:42","slug":"the-enforcer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peopletekcoaching.com\/staging\/2018\/04\/19\/the-enforcer\/","title":{"rendered":"The Enforcer"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people &#8211; your family, friends, and coworkers, and even strangers you meet along the way.\u2014Barbara Bush<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>This week Barbara Bush, both the wife and mother of former U.S. Presidents, passed away.\u00a0 She was known for her humor (sometimes biting), her fondness for wearing pearls, and she was lovingly referred to as &#8220;the enforcer&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although not a political leader, she was a leader in her own right. She focused on nonpartisan social issues, and volunteered and promoted causes that would especially help children.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Bush&#8217;s quote reminded us of another quote: <strong>I&#8217;ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.<\/strong>&#8212; Maya Angelou<\/p>\n<p>As leaders, we\u2019ll at some point find it necessary to deliver tough messages, but it can be done in an honoring way and with aplomb.
