The University of California found that motivated employees were 31% more productive than those less engaged, and were 87% less likely to quit their job. And, Gallop reports that 70% of motivation levels are attributed directly to leadership.<\/p>\n<p>We frequently share effective leadership skills and behaviors, and now want to share <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/article\/286055\">\u201cWorst Behaviors\u201d <\/a>as listed by Dr. Travis Bradberry.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Making a lot of stupid rules<\/li>\n<li>Letting accomplishments go unrecognized<\/li>\n<li>Hiring and promoting the wrong people<\/li>\n<li>Treating everyone equally<\/li>\n<li>Tolerating poor performance<\/li>\n<li>Going back on their commitments<\/li>\n<li>Being apathetic<\/li>\n<li>All companies have rules and processes, and as leaders we may not have the ability\/authority to change them.\u00a0 What we CAN do is explain the rationale and listen to and acknowledge how people are feeling.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We regularly share the need for consistently recognizing and rewarding accomplishments \u2013 enough said!<\/p>\n<p>Our mottos are \u201cHire Hard or Manage Hard\u201d and \u201cIt\u2019s essential to hire the right person for the right job\u201d. If you don\u2019t, everyone suffers.<\/p>\n<p>Number 4 sounds fair, but is it? Should a star performer be treated the same as someone who merely \u201cshows up\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>When leaders don\u2019t address poor performance, the morale and attitude of the entire team is impacted.<\/p>\n<p>Authenticity and trust can not be compromised \u2013 EVER.<\/p>\n<p>People wanted to be treated as people, not as productivity statistics.
