Would your colleagues and direct reports agree that you say what you mean? That you model the behaviors that support your company values? That you can be trusted, are consistent, and are truly dedicated to helping team members succeed, and organizational goals achieved?<\/p><p>We\u2019ve worked with companies and leadership teams where integrity was their lowest survey score when their leadership style was evaluated. Why? The raters felt that their leaders did not exhibit the behaviors that were expected of them, and that the actions, processes, and communication (or lack of) did not support the company\u00a0values and beliefs.<\/p><p>Below are some questions that can be used to measure integrity. We suggest you answer the questions first, and then if inclined, you can ask your team to share their perceptions.<\/p><div>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I always act with positive intent<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I do not avoid answering questions truthfully, even when the issue is tough ex. layoffs<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I own up to my mistakes and take steps to not repeat them<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I am willing to say what I\u2019m thinking, even when I\u2019m in the minority<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I treat others fairly and respectfully regardless of position\/title<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I lead by example<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I always fulfill my promises\/commitments<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m respectful of others\u2019 time and am always punctual<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I call others out when the work values are not supported<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>10.\u00a0I don\u2019t make excuses for poor behaviors or actions displayed by myself or others<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>11.\u00a0I address disruptive behaviors and conflict quickly and respectfully<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>12.\u00a0I am not easily influenced by those more senior to me when things seem &#8220;off&#8221; and have the confidence to be true to myself<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>13.\u00a0I encourage collaboration for the attainment of results<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>14.\u00a0I make an effort to build a work culture that encompasses trust<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><div>15.\u00a0I give credit when and where credit is due<\/div><p>How did you feel answering these questions?
