They have been defined as:<br \/><i>1. the process of resolving something such as a problem or dispute<\/i><br \/><i>2. a firm decision to do something<\/i><br \/><i>3. determination; firmness of mind or purpose<\/i><br \/><br \/>Common resolutions are related to self-care:<\/p><ul><li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Healthier eating habits<\/li><li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Exercise routines<\/li><li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Work\/life balance<\/li><li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Sleep more<\/li><li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Schedule &#8220;fun&#8221; time\u00a0\u00a0ex. Get a hobby, socialize with friends\/family<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>And another common resolution is to spend less and save more.<br \/><br \/>Is there anything in your life that you want to STOP doing? What about new behaviors, routines, or actions that you\u2019d like to START to do? We heard a New Year\u2019s interview that also encouraged people to assess what they do well with the reminder to not neglect our strengths.<br \/><br \/>Maybe you don\u2019t make resolutions but it never hurts to ask yourself:<\/p><ol><li>What\u2019s working well\/what isn\u2019t? (For you and your team\/organization)<\/li><li>Are you lacking any skills?<\/li><li>Do any of your behaviors impact others? How?<\/li><li>Which of your habits impact your life and career either negatively or positively?<\/li><\/ol><p><br \/>If you\u2019re stuck, ask others for feedback. Simple questions include:<\/p><ul><li>Please share 3 things I do that you want me to CONTINUE doing<\/li><li>Please share 3 things I do you\u2019d prefer I STOP doing<\/li><li>Please share 3 things you\u2019d like me to START doing<\/li><\/ul><p><br \/>It\u2019s up to us to replace our non-productive behaviors and actions. Document what\u2019s working well and what you\u2019d like to change and add both to your 2023 goals.<br \/><br \/>Making changes is about firmness of mind and determination.
