I believe that working with good people matters because then the work environment is good.
If there is a sense of respect and belief among the people you work with,
that is when good work is done.

We all know the workplace has changed over the past few years and that job openings continue to be close to all-time highs.<\/p>

Per the\u00a0U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/a>, 4.4 million Americans quit their jobs and there are 1.8 job openings for every unemployed person. Pretty staggering!<\/p>

How is your business doing, and what are you doing as a leader to retain or acquire top talent? Employees that are staying at their current place of employment have shared the following reasons for not looking elsewhere:<\/p>

  1. Integrity is a part of leadership<\/li>
  2. Leaders are passionate about the company, its direction, and the people<\/li>
  3. Employees are recognized\u00a0for the value they provide<\/li>
  4. Opportunities for growth\u00a0exists<\/li>
  5. The pay is competitive<\/li>
  6. Transparency\u00a0exists\u00a0in the workplace<\/li>
  7. There is a culture where\u00a0individuals feel valued for the work they do<\/li>
  8. The\u00a0job is interesting\u00a0and\u00a0challenging<\/li>
  9. Senior leadership invests time and money into\u00a0the\u00a0hiring process\u00a0(hire hard or manage hard!)<\/li>
  10. Successes are\u00a0celebrated<\/li>
  11. Leaders train, develop, and promote employees from within\u00a0whenever possible<\/li>
  12. Overall employees are treated well<\/li>
  13. They would highly recommend their workplace to others<\/li>
  14. The work conditions are extremely flexible and favorable<\/li>
  15. The environment is diverse and equitable<\/li>
  16. Efforts are made to recognize and prevent burn-out<\/li>
  17. There are clearly defined roles and expectations<\/li><\/ol>

    • Do you take the time to understand the “wants” of your team members and ask for their ideas for making the workplace even more desirable?<\/li>
