There is no other route to success\u201d.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u2013Stephen A. Brennan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Most of you have begun to identify your annual goals; some of you may even have finalized the goals that your organization\/company will work on throughout the year.\u00a0 Now what?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The goals need to be cascaded to everyone that can support attaining them.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Each person that has a role in the successful achievement of a goal needs to understand how they personally can help with achieving the goal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One way to start to action each goal is to utilize the brown paper process.\u00a0 The steps in this process include:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<br \/>\n<\/strong>Identify the objective for successfully completing each goal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<br \/>\n<\/strong>Agree on the focus areas (streams) that are required for achieving the goal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<br \/>\n<\/strong>Identify what the desired end result is and the timeframe for completion (called \u201cTO BE\u201d in the process)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<br \/>\n<\/strong>Identify the dependencies (called Critical Success Factors (CSF\u2019s) that are required for success.\u00a0 Ex. funding, skills, completion of other goals<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<br \/>\n<\/strong>Document the \u2018AS IS\u2019 for each of the goals. (Let\u2019s say you have a goal of 99% accuracy, what\u2019s the current accuracy rate?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6<br \/>\n<\/strong>Brainstorm what must be done to achieve the goal (called \u201cHOW TO\u2019s\u201d)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 7<br \/>\n<\/strong>Ensure accountability by assigning an owner for each goal and for each \u201chow to\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Please let us know if you\u2019d like an excel template for the brown paper process.\u00a0 It\u2019s\u00a0ideal for taking action, obtaining results, and tracking where you are today to where you desire to be.\u00a0The sooner you get started the more successful you\u2019ll be!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOur goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act.
