While some of you may be avid football fans, we realize many of you have no interest whatsoever, but we did want to share a little-known leadership program that the NFL has created.<\/p>\n<p>Department <strong>NFLPE<\/strong> (National Football League Player Engagement) exists with the purpose to create a model of best practices that will maximize player potential \u201cfor a lifetime of commitment, contribution, and community.&#8221; How cool is that?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The mission is to maximize players\u2019 potential by facilitating education and life skills training to prepare them for success before, during and after their playing career.<br \/>\n(NFL Player Engagement Mission)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Player Engagement<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>The Player \u2013 to \u2013 Player model connects generations of players through a variety of programs that promote success on and off the field. Active players that \u201cdo the right things\u201d are chosen to become mentors, contributors, and possibly ambassadors to other players.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassadors (active and past players) are critical to the success of player engagement\u00a0and must complete a program to become certified as a Transition Coach. They work with 3 areas of player engagement:\u00a0<strong>PREP<\/strong> (pre-NFL),\u00a0<strong>LIFE<\/strong> (active players), and <strong>NEXT<\/strong> (former players), and focus on core areas. They include\u00a0academic excellence, leadership development, social responsibility, health, safety, and wellness.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to working on the core areas, they also focus on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Protecting the NFL brand<\/li>\n<li>Establishing best practices<\/li>\n<li>Promoting players as their most valuable asset<\/li>\n<li>Preserving and growing the game<\/li>\n<li>Formalizing standards and certifications<\/li>\n<li>Preparing high school and college athletes for becoming professional<\/li>\n<li>Supporting Play 60 (exercise for 60 minutes\/day)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As leaders (remember, we\u2019re all leaders as we all have the ability to influence others), what more can we do to prepare our business or organization for success, while maximizing the potential of those we work with?<\/p>\n<p>Is there anything to be learned from NFLPE?<\/p>\n<h3>ANNOUNCING QWIKCOACH!<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>PeopleTek\u2019s strategic partnership with eCoach offers you a new online support tool for finding solutions for day-to-day issues.<\/p>\n<p>This online coaching support tool provides immediate advice for handling everyday challenges in 3 main areas:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.qwikcoachonline.com\/peopletek\/What%20is%20QC\/Content.htm\">People Smarts, Business Sense, and Personal Savvy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week NFL football kicks off it&#8217;s 2012 \u2013 2013 season.
