It\u2019s available in PDF and excel formats.<\/p>\n<h2>#1 &#8211; Leadership\u00a0COMPASS Series<\/h2>\n<p>Getting started requires self-reflection. It requires getting to know and\u00a0understand YOU. It means having the ability to answer:\u00a0<em>Where are you going?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You must have a vision, a mission, goals, and measures, and they must be supported by appropriate behaviors and actions. They must be documented, shared, and understood, with all team members being purposeful about the behaviors they demonstrate. There must also be the willingness to change\/eliminate ineffective and counter-productive behaviors, and identify\u00a0and implement new ones.<\/p>\n<p>Vision, Mission, Goals, Measures = Behaviors<\/p>\n<h3>Vision<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s a dream or aspiration that you as the leader have for yourself and your organization. The vision provides direction and guides us to a place far away. \u00a0It may be unattainable but we strive for focus and make strides for getting\u00a0there.<\/p>\n<h3>Mission<\/h3>\n<p>Represents what you are going to do and how you\u2019re going to do it to carry\u00a0out your vision. It makes the vision come closer to us; it brings the vision\u00a0alive for us and makes it more personal. <em>The mission begins to bring clarity to your vision.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Goals<\/h3>\n<p>Bring 100 percent personal clarity to your vision and mission. It requires\u00a0ACTION. Think in terms of what, when, and how the actions will be carried\u00a0out, by whom, and by when. The goals must be \u201cSMART\u201d: \u00a0Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time-bound.<\/p>\n<h3>Metrics or Tape Measure<\/h3>\n<p>Symbolizes measurement and provides guidance and direction.\u00a0 It also acts\u00a0as a compass letting us know if we are not on track and if our direction or behavior requires change.<\/p>\n<p>Our Vision, Mission, Goals\u00a0and Measures dictate all of our leadership,\u00a0team and organizational behaviors.
