There are numerous ways to define Leadership.\u00a0 Part of what PeopleTek promotes is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>We believe everyone is a leader, regardless of title or reporting structures since we all have the ability to INFLUENCE others. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Strong and effective Leaders take others where they\u2019ve never gone before and wouldn\u2019t go by themselves.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And, we also believe <em>effective leaders are continual learners.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn shares the need to commit to self-development and identifies 7 &#8220;must have&#8221; leadership traits:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Learn to be strong but not impolite<\/li>\n<li>Learn to be kind but not weak<\/li>\n<li>Learn to be bold but not a bully<\/li>\n<li>Learn to be humble but not timid<\/li>\n<li>Learn to be proud but not arrogant<\/li>\n<li>Learn to develop humor without folly<\/li>\n<li>Learn to deal in realities<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>What were your thoughts when you read through the list? How many have you mastered?\u00a0 Which could you further develop?<\/p>\n<p>Did any names come to mind (colleagues\/clients\/bosses) where you thought these traits were either consistently displayed or severely lacking?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the beginning of a new year and the perfect time to establish goals and commit to self development. \u00a0A simple start is to pick two areas:<br \/>\n&#8211; A strength you already have (how can it be further<br \/>\ndeveloped?)<br \/>\n&#8211; An &#8220;opportunity&#8221; to strengthen (which from the list<br \/>\nleft you feeling uneasy?)<\/p>\n<p>Are you still learning? Be a life-long learner!\u00a0 Having the desire to continually grow your wisdom, knowledge and skill-set prevents stagnation and increases the likelihood of success.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Learning is not a one-time event or a periodic luxury.
