Why not have a course of action that aligns with your overall workplace strategy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a<strong> 7 Step Process outlined by the Harvard Business Press:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">1.\u00a0\u00a0 See the big picture<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 Articulate Strategic Objectives- Smart Goals<br \/>\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 Identify Relationships, Patterns and Trends<br \/>\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 Get Creative<br \/>\n5.\u00a0\u00a0 Analyze Information<br \/>\n6.\u00a0\u00a0 Prioritize Your Actions<br \/>\n7.\u00a0\u00a0 Make Trade-Offs<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s your Big Picture? Where do you want to take your organization in the next 3-5 years? Link and support this vision by including the following key processes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hiring<\/strong> \u2013 What\u2019s required to strengthen the workplace? (Skill-set as well as leadership and collaborative behaviors).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training and Development<\/strong> \u2013 Is any up-skilling required? What about Technical or Leadership bench-strength?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rewards<\/strong> \u2013 Do you consistently appreciate and recognize when value has been added?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communication<\/strong> \u2013 Has the Vision been shared? Are meaningful updates provided?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Change\/Conflict<\/strong> \u2013 Decisions are costly and can help or hurt the bottom line; don\u2019t disregard differing opinions and immediately address opposing actions.<\/p>\n<p>The intent is to have your team align and collaborate for the attainment of desired results.
