The difference between success and failure is a great team.<\/em>

Building team strengths and relationships is always important, and given our current challenging times, even more so. We\u2019ve talked about including in your weekly staff meeting time for team members to share something personal, but what about having something that is simply fun?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Enter ice breakers and games. \u00a0The intent is simple: build team relationships in a relaxed forum where people can share thoughts and opinions that are not linked with work efforts or deliverables.<\/p>\n

Here are a few ideas:
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Remote bingo<\/strong> \u2013 click here<\/a> for a free template and “how to” instructions
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Team “fave” week<\/strong> \u2013 pick a daily theme that everyone contributes to and posts a picture. Example:<\/p>\n

a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monday \u2013 favorite animal photo
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tuesday \u2013 favorite beverage (let the creativity flow!)
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wednesday \u2013 favorite musical group
\nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thursday \u2013 favorite food
\ne.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Friday \u2013 favorite vacation spot<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conversation starters\/ice breakers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Which do you prefer and why:\u00a0 dogs or cats?
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Least favorite food?
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do you consider yourself a morning or night person?
\nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What task are you most likely to procrastinate doing?
\ne.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What home “to do” has been on your list the longest?<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 More activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “How to” \u2013 ex. mix a favorite drink, assemble a preferred recipe, paint a wall, bathe a dog, etc
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Show and tell \u2013 (you can set a theme if you prefer)
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Virtual book club \u2013 this could be a subset of the team
\nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Daily “step” challenge; who walks the most over a 5 day period.
\ne.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Teach an exercise.\u00a0 Ex. Yoga, stretching, strength training, etc<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Daily Fika<\/strong> \u2013 this is a Swedish concept considered by many to be essential. Every day colleagues make time to share a cup of coffee (or tea) and a little something to eat.<\/p>\n

Having a work culture that includes fun and encourages colleagues to get to know one another on a more personal level is a plus. It also helps to better understand and get to know the boss!<\/p>\n
