Period.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. King shared his &#8220;I Have a Dream&#8221; speech (and vision) at the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and Professor Wadhwa provides the following insights from that speech:<\/p>\n<p><em>Great leaders do not sugar-coat reality<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders engage the heart<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders refuse to accept the status quo<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders create a sense of urgency<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders call people to act in accord with their highest\u00a0 <\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0values<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders refuse to settle<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders acknowledge the sacrifice of their followers<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders paint a vivid picture of a better tomorrow<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u00a0 Great leaders know it\u2019s always right to do what is right<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One of Dr. King\u2019s most famous quotes was:<br \/>\n<em><strong>Life&#8217;s most persistent and urgent question is, &#8216;What are you doing for others\u2019?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>As a leader (and a person), what are you doing for others and how are you contributing to making a difference in the workplace?
