We\u2019ve talked about experiencing failures, learning from our mistakes, and then moving on. It\u2019s something we all experience; what\u2019s also required is that we maintain a healthy attitude and take ownership of our error.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Additionally, we need to retain the courage to take risks, and when issues arise, honestly assess what went wrong so “it” doesn\u2019t happen again.<\/p>\n

Dr. Henry Cloud, clinical psychologist and author, conducted studies and wanted to learn what made people successful in business, life and relationships and provides the following:<\/p>\n

10 “doorways” of learning that high performers go through, never to return again:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Return to what hasn\u2019t worked.<\/li>\n
  2. Do anything that requires them to be someone they are not.<\/li>\n
  3. Try to change another person.<\/li>\n
  4. Believe they can please everyone.<\/li>\n
  5. Choose short-term comfort over long-term benefit.<\/li>\n
  6. Trust someone or something that appears flawless.<\/li>\n
  7. Take their eyes off the big picture.<\/li>\n
  8. Neglect to do due diligence.<\/li>\n
  9. Fail to ask why they are where they find themselves.<\/li>\n
  10. Forget that their inner life determines their outer success.Dr. Cloud says: “we don\u2019t need new ways to fail\u2026.the old ones are working just fine!”<\/strong><\/em>\n

    All of us make mistakes, even the superstars! We need to recognize what is NOT working for us, and accept when change needs to occur. We don\u2019t always immediately know what those changes may be, but we can immediately know what NOT to continue doing.<\/p>\n
