And, worldwide, females hold only 3% to 4% of the level of CEO.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Women \u201cTake Care,\u201d Men \u201cTake Charge\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211;Jeanine L. Prime and Nancy M. Carter<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Contrary to this quote, studies show that there are fewer differences\/more similarities between women and men leaders, so why is gender an issue? We only wish we had the answers!<\/p>\n<h2>Behaviors Attributed to Successful Leaders<\/h2>\n<p>Read them and then get an image of how they may be exhibited by leaders of both genders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive<\/li>\n<li>Attitude\/demeanor<\/li>\n<li>Looks<\/li>\n<li>Words\/colorful language<\/li>\n<li>Caring<\/li>\n<li>Presence<\/li>\n<li>Authoritative<\/li>\n<li>Assertive<\/li>\n<li>An advocate for others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How different were your images? Do other descriptors come to mind for women leaders?<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Steam roller?<\/li>\n<li>Egotistical?<\/li>\n<li>Bombshell?<\/li>\n<li>Threatening?<\/li>\n<li>Wimpy?<\/li>\n<li>Witchy?<\/li>\n<li>Pushy?<\/li>\n<li>Bossy?<\/li>\n<li>Plays favorites?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An entirely different topic is &#8220;equal pay between genders.&#8221;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>This week on a morning talk show, Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, said he was an advocate of women in politics, has hired many to fill positions in Texas, yet he admitted voting against a bill for equal pay for men and women.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(He did not clarify his position.)<\/p>\n<p>We would like to hear from you.
