{"id":10872,"date":"2019-05-16T08:24:30","date_gmt":"2019-05-16T12:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peopletekcoaching.com\/staging\/?p=10872"},"modified":"2021-10-14T21:39:06","modified_gmt":"2021-10-14T21:39:06","slug":"clarity-of-vmgm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peopletekcoaching.com\/staging\/2019\/05\/16\/clarity-of-vmgm\/","title":{"rendered":"Clarity of VMGM"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Keeping people fired up starts with having a really clear vision for what the company is aiming to do. \u2013Nick Woodman<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We\u2019ve shared that CLARITY starts with YOU.\u00a0 Now we\u2019ll add to that \u2013 in order for there to be organizational success, a clear <strong>vision<\/strong> must exist.<\/p>\n<p>Many of you are familiar with PeopleTek\u2019s <em>VMGM=B equation<\/em>. For those that are not, it means that our <strong>vision<\/strong>, mission, goals and measures are to be 100% supported by our behaviors.<\/p>\n<p>We define <strong>Vision<\/strong> as:<br \/>\nA <em>dream or aspiration<\/em> that provides <em>direction<\/em> and guides us to a place far away. It may be unattainable, but we are able to focus our attention and make strides for ideally getting there.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is for the vision to be clearly defined, easily understood, with supporting actions made a priority. And, the entire organization (all levels; all positions) must be engaged.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where things sometimes get derailed \u2013 how can each person and every role support it? That\u2019s where leadership comes in.<\/p>\n<p>As leaders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We need to simplify the vision and make the connections for our staff\/teams<\/li>\n<li>We need to regularly restate the vision and associated goals and behaviors that will make the vision come alive<\/li>\n<li>We need to explain the &#8220;why&#8221; and obtain buy-in for the &#8220;how&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>We can also ask our team members their thoughts about making the vision feel real and meaningful to them<\/li>\n<li>We need to reward the behaviors that support our vision<\/li>\n<li>We need to track and share any team successes and accomplishments that support the vision (and celebrate them!)Clarity is required for us to have a work culture that includes innovation, decision making, collaboration, and ultimately success.How would you rate CLARITY in your work culture?
