For 30 years PeopleTek has helped individuals, teams, and organizations thrive.
Did you know that Mike founded PeopleTek in 1996? That means we’re celebrating 30 years where the PeopleTek team has helped individuals, teams, and entire organizations increase levels of effectiveness via coaching, training and leadership development programs.
It all started when Mike was a leader at American Express and received feedback that he was a great people person but was lacking when it came to holding team members accountable. Basically, he was too nice!
If you’re wondering where the name “PeopleTek” came from, it was Mike’s vision that people and relationships are critical components of leadership, and that when many high performing technicians (hence the “Tek”) were promoted into a leadership role, they were at a loss.
There was really no process and minimal development opportunities to help technicians transition into their new role as leader and this hit a chord with Mike. He first brought in a coach to help his organization grow their skills, become more collaborative, provide healthy feedback, and create stronger relationships which drove results. He was successful!
This fueled his vision and passion to help others grow and he became Myers-Briggs certified, conducted internal training at American Express, and then made the difficult decision to change careers and make helping grow leadership skills his priority.
In 1996 his vision became real and he was the owner, CEO, and sole coach at PeopleTek where he created the concept for the Leadership Journey©. Over the years he added dozens to his coaching staff, developed an operations support team, had a website created, and can proudly share that thousands have benefited from his vision. Talk about living your “Magic Dust™”.
If you have stories to share about how Mike and the PeopleTek team have helped you and/or your team, I’m sure Mike would love to hear from you!
The most important skill as a Leader is the relationship we have with others. Our job is to create effective business relationships that lead to world-class leadership.
