Doug Gray
has been a full time executive coach since 2003 and part time
since 1997. Prior to that, he spent 13 years in academia as
an independent school teacher and administrator. Then he spent
8 years directing a non-profit organization that grew 900%.
In the process he learned how to manage 120 staff and 54 programs.
He co-developed and still conducts leadership development programs
at the University of Maryland's Leadership Development Institute.
He also works for the National Leadership Institute, and trains
people at AARP in an emotional intelligence program he developed,
called "Managing Interpersonal Relationships."
For many
years, Doug also worked part time with Outward Bound Professional,
helping adults develop communication and problem solving skills.
Doug helps adventurous business leaders solve their problems,
develop self confidence, and develop the accountability systems
that will lead to success.
His book,
Adventure Coaching; A Guidebook for Action-based Success in
Life and Work (2005) has helped countless people explore the
5 steps of change. As a keynote speaker, he has encouraged people
to make their next steps.
Doug lives
what he believes. He is a family man, business man, and a world
class athlete. His sport of adventure racing requires that coed
teams of 4 travels continuously through any wilderness environment
for days at a time. In 2004, his team finished 20th in the world,
at the Subaru Primal Quest; that event was captured on CBS Sports
and OLN television. As the Team Captain and Lead Navigator,
Doug is familiar with helping people embrace their next steps.

Academically,
Doug earned a MALS from Dartmouth College in psychology, and
a BS from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, in education.
